Assistant Facilities Manager

As the assistant facilities manager, you will ensure a safe, clean and secure environment for all. Manage the Estate staff and provide maintenance, key holder and care taking services across all estates in the group. Manage the sites and facilities effectivelyensuring the sites are well maintained, statutory requirements complied with and contractors duly managed whilst on site.

You will be working for a public sector organisation, who are is looking for a assistant facilities manager, to help support their estates teams.
**Description**
- To support and assist the Estates Team Leader in managing the team in a clear, positive and structured manner.
- To support with the provision of a clean safe sites for all. Good Health & Safety practises. An environment conducive to learning.
- Support with the implementation of a Planned Preventative Plan that maintains the equipment and sites to a good level.
- To comply with all statutory compliance issues and complete corrective action when and as required.
- To keep the sites secure always. Lock up and opening services to the sites, including cover and key hold services for lets and special events like Open Evenings.
- Oversee the receipt of pertinent deliveries and distribution thereof.
- Litter picking and rubbish removal.
- Ensure statutory checks and tests are carried out accordingly and records kept and managed using the relevant systems. Such as Fire alarm, water management etc.
- Completion and oversight of general maintenance tasks on site such as painting.
- Support with the maintenance of the Groups vehicle fleet including record keeping.
- Support with the allocation of work to Estate team. Fair allocation/sharing of work as appropriate to individual based on competency.
- Support with the coordination of team cover/rota for duties as well as special out of hours events and lettings.
- Ensure value for money on all purchases and works.
- Regular patrols/inspections of sites to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
- Work with the Estates Coordinator to maintain accurate records.
- To liaise closely with the Building Supervisor, Estate Coordinator and Group Estate Manager on all estate matters.
- Assist when required to induct contractors coming on site
- Inform the Team Leader and Group Estate Manager immediately of any Health and Safety or Safeguarding concerns that arise.
- To contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the Group.
**Profile**
- Experience of line management in a similar position within a large organisation is desirable.
- Good working knowledge of facilities Maintenance.
- An understanding of safeguarding and Equal Opportunities and its importance within the organisation.
- To hold a current driving licence
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with all staff and visitors to the premises.
- Willingness to work flexibly, both in relation to role, location and working hours (alternate shifts between the hours of 7AM-10PM)
**Job Offer**
Salary of £21,000 - £23,500 (depending on experience)
25 days holidays, plus Bank Holidays, plus 5 days Christmas leave
