Head of Estates and Facilities

Fareham College has an exciting opportunity for an experienced facility professional to head up its Estates and Health & Safety team running the college’s two sites, Bishopsfield Road in Fareham and CEMAST/ CETC on the Daedalus Enterprise Zone in Lee-on-the-Solent as well as providing management support to a team and site based in St Mary’s, Southampton.
You will be responsible for the College’s property and assets, maintaining all service contracts, environmental standards and energy management. Reporting to the Deputy Principal Finance & Resources, you will line manage a team of Estates staff and lead on ensuring a clean, safe and legally compliant working environment for all our students and staff.
Ideally you will hold a professional building/ MEE/ facilities management qualification and a degree or equivalent, with a background in either Chartered Surveying or Engineering. You will be IOSH qualified, with experience in Estates, Facilities or building services operations. You will have experience of capital projects, resource and asset management, all aspects of health and safety including risk assessments and managing external suppliers/ contractors. A strong communicator, you will have the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and will have experience of leading/managing a team.
Previous experience within an educational environment would also be advantageous.
