**Position Overview**:
The Assurance team is a newly created Line 2 function reporting to the Head of Risk. It will pioneer risk assurance in the UK and influence the Group model. Working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders, the funtion will be expected to giveSenior Management comfort that the control environment is operating as designed, highligh weaknesses and blind spots, and make business and commercially pragmatic recommendations to resolve. This is not an audit team, as an assurance team member you will beexpected to drive the solution to improve the business, and there is a strong link with waste reduction (QA).
The role will provide an opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to develop and gain experience the of UK energy industry and its associated products and markets.
You will be expected to demonstrate the appropriate behaviours and commitment towards health and safety to ensure we maintain our first-class safety culture.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Support the implementation of the Assurance framework; policy, methodology, schedule and reporting.
- Ensure that key regulation and legislation is evidenced through SE UK processes, and that regulatory change is delivered by the Risk Owner timely and completely, through a suite of assurance activities
- Assurance of business critical policies and processes and reporting on adherence to policies and processes that demonstrate compliance to the regulator,
- Control data analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, and efficiencies,
- Ensure any discrepancies, delays, mandate breaches or other exceptions are noted and reported to management promptly.
- Identify and enhance risk process improvement opportunities to improve front to back efficiency and controls
**Requirements**:
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CII is required,
- Quality Management Qualifications are preferred (ISO),
- Minimum 5 years working experience in Assurance, Audit, Quality Assurance and/or investigation role. Preference is given to experience in Industrial / Operational roles,
- Experience in data analytics will be advantageous,
- Role requires travel within the UK regularly, approximately 70%,
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (verbal and written) to comfortably communicate with all levels of the business and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and maintain a level of professional scepticism
- Good analytical and critical thinking skills are required to identify irregularities, internal control gaps and areas for improvements
- A full UK driving licence is required, and
- Right to work in the UK is essential.
- Ability to operate with minimum supervision on multiple projects. Must be able to prioritise workload in reaction to the business and functional needs,
