**Job Description**:
We are hiring an Associate for the Direct Private Equity group within our Private Equity department. CPP Investments' DPE group manages a $53 billion portfolio of direct private equity investments, investing out of offices in Toronto and London. DPE consists of 65 investment professionals and focuses mainly on large cap co-control investments in partnership with founders, families, or private equity funds, with the flexibility to also invest in significant minority stakes.
The Associate responsibilities include:
- Analyzing investment opportunities for a variety of industries, companies, and securities
- Conduct research and due diligence in collaboration with advisors
- Independently run accurate and complex models
- Actively participate in the investment process, including answering questions at Investment Committee
- Develop internal reporting materials as part of monitoring portfolio companies
A particular focus is placed on helping Associates develop a well-rounded set of skills as an investor and leader with a strong understanding of the deal process from origination through to exit.
**Qualifications**:
- Have relevant related full-time work experience in investment banking or private equity or strategic consulting
- Have excellent research, financial modeling, analytical and valuation skills
- Have a track record of academic achievement and professional advancement
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Comfortable working in a flat structure
- Have great communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
