Berkshire West Safeguarding Children Partnership
2 weeks ago
Berkshire West partners are strongly committed to our shared responsibility to safeguard and protect children and young people.
We are a diverse area, spanning three very different local authorities (Reading, West Berkshire and Wokingham), but we benefit from excellent inter-agency leadership and are fully committed to keeping children and young people at the centre of all we do.
Independent Scrutiny is key to the continued improvement and success of our partnership arrangements. We are seeking an experienced strategic leader who will provide challenge, assurance and scrutiny to enable us to evidence impact and judge the effectivenessof the multi-agency partnership arrangements in Berkshire West.
You will have experience of delivering challenge and scrutiny at a senior level of responsibility, with leadership skills in negotiation and facilitation.
You will be able to demonstrate the capacity to manage a high-profile formal group, taking the lead in facilitating clear decision-making and challenging key issues.
You will have a sound knowledge and understanding of local and national safeguarding agendas and of recent developments in social care, health and policing; as well as in associated legislation.
You will have the presence and ability to develop trust and respect of the partners, with strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
If you have extensive strategic partnership experience (in social care, education, criminal justice or health) and a successful record of improving outcomes for children and/or vulnerable adults, we want to hear from you.
We seek the best talent from the widest pool of people as diversity and inclusion is the key to our success.
**Contract details**:
The specific commitment required will be discussed as part of the appointment process. Meetings will be held online but there will be a requirement for a proportion to be in person. You will have to travel to Reading, Newbury or Wokingham for face to facemeetings.
