The Job
The Company
Working on behalf of a well renowned regional building contractor to assist in the placement of a Senior Estimator. This Kent/Sussex based contractor are keen to recruit a Senior Estimator to cover work from their main office. Covering schemes of between £3m - £20m, they are looking for a Senior Estimator who has experience in running commercial, education and residential tenders.
The Role
To assist and produce priced tenders that are accurate, clearly detailed, competitive and returned within deadlines. Maintain good relationships with prospective clients and professionals to promote further tender invitations and provide clearly identified price build-ups to the Contract team.
Showing a stable and progressive career to date, you, a Senior Estimator, will be able to demonstrate experience within the commercial, education and residential sector. Having worked on projects ranging from £5m through to £20m, you will understand that pricing as a Senior Estimator can be challenging regardless of the value.
As a Senior Estimator, you will hold the responsibility of extracting the full client brief on receipt of the tender and will be able to price, hold tender adjudication meetings and be client facing in order to attend pre start meetings. Liaising with Engineers and Tender Planners is also a must for this role, to make sure that the clients are getting the full tender including risk assessments, design (for D&B) and initial project plans.
Other responsibilities with include carrying out site feasibility studies, taking necessary photographic evidence, looking at value engineering and organising internal estimating team.
Qualifications & Experience
You will be able to demonstrate a stable career background, alongside the experience of pricing projects to £20m as a Senior Estimator. Ideally the right applicant will also hold a construction related qualification and will be a member of a professional body, such as the CIOB.
