- Team Managers make a vital contribution to the delivery of high-quality child protection social work and we're looking for an energetic, passionate individual to help the team to impact positively on the lives of the children and families we work with.
- Our Disabled Children's Service works with families who need support to help them care for their disabled child as well as working with children in need, children in need of protection, children in care and young people in transition. You will be managinga team of 9 staff with an Assistant Team Manager.
- The team members have different levels of experience so you'll be supporting them to develop their skills alongside ensuring good performance to achieve the best outcomes for our children and their families. Through reflective supervision meetings withyour social workers, you'll champion their personal and professional growth
- We need you to be an outstanding social worker and manager with a strong understanding of safeguarding and significant post-qualifying experience.
- You need to have: Experience of supervising and mentoring qualified and unqualified colleagues First-class interpersonal skills, to support the need to deal with complex social care issues Good understanding of managing working with complex children andfamily situations, including court work
- Demonstrable experience of promoting practice that improves outcomes for children, and an understanding of challenging underperformance where needed Experience of working with disabled children and families
