Recovery Worker in The Early Intervention Team

We are looking for aRecovery Workerto be part of a ground-breaking relatively new team, improving the lives of forensic mental health service users.
To provide the support required, the specialist community forensic team is a new kind of multi-disciplinary team. Its key features include:
- Working with individuals with a first episode of psychosis. Supporting patients to engage with the early intervention care plan.
- Managing a high caseload of patients, to implement evidence-based psychosocial interventions known to support forensic service users.
- To work within the early intervention duty team.
- To implement and support with facilitating groups.
As a recovery worker you will be working intensively with a small number of people, enabling them to live their lives and achieve their own goals with support from a Multi-Disciplinary team of Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapist, Social Workers, Consultant Psychologist, Social Workers and Consultant Psychiatrist.
The Recovery Worker is pivotal to the provision and delivery of high quality, safe and effective care. The post requires utilisation of sound clinical, professional, managerial and leadership skills and knowledge as well as being supportive, kind, gentle, tenacious, non-judgemental and approachable while able to challenge and constantly strive for a better life for patients.
Although it is not essential that you have experience of working with people with first episode of psychosis, we do ask that you have a wide range of life experiences. You will have the desire and passion to improve the quality of life for people in all aspects of their lives which may have been disrupted by ill-health.

**Key responsibilities**:
- Work with people in their own homes and communities, this will include working with housing providers and other agencies
- Build and maintain safe and effective therapeutic recovery relationships
- Support people to identify their own hopes and goals to improve their quality of life
- Support people to write their own recovery plans/care plans
- Support people and care coordinators to develop recovery/care plans and implement them collaboratively and creatively using initiative.
- Understand a person’s experiences in relation to their mental health
- Understand a person’s coping strategies and strengths and support people to use these at times of distress or difficulty
- Be able to recognise increasing risk to alert significant others and the team to respond as needed
- To feel confident to be able to report untoward incidents and areas of concern as soon as they arise
- To attend and contribute to reflective practice and case formulation in order to encourage compassion and understanding.
- To document any relevant information in an electronic record
- Contribute to review systems and team meetings
