**This is an on-site **position**

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Express and purify proteins containing non canonical amino acids from bacteria
- Work closely with other team members to deploy our proprietary platform for the production of high-value biologics
- Perform molecular cloning and purification of DNA constructs for expression
- Characterize protein and peptides using a variety of methods (SDS-PAGE, LC-MS, HPLC)
- Effectively document, organize and communicate your research to other team members
- Work in full compliance of the health and safety regulations in place

**The requirements for this position are**:

- BSc or MSc in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a related field
- Hands-on experience with protein expression and purification, considerable and demonstrable
- Understanding of protein characterisation
- Documented familiarity with liquid chromatography systems (such as ÄKTA)
- Track record in delivering high quality data
- Strong oral and written communication skills

**Desirable qualifications and experience**:

- Bacterial expression experience
- Experience working in highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environments
- Familiarity a variety of DNA cloning methods (e.g. restriction digestion, Gibson assembly, GoldenGate )
- Familiarity with the generation and interpretation of mass spectrometry data, particularly LC-MS intact protein mass data
- Good presentation skills
