CDS Recruitment limited are working with our client who have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis.
The main purpose of the role is to manage the cost of all construction projects - from initial estimates, right through to the final acquisition of materials and bills of quantity whilst ensuring clients are provided with quality service.
Obtain and evaluate information to ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials and services for designated planned and preventative projects/contracts.
Whilst liaising with contractors, suppliers and clients to ensure information, costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of designated project/contracts.
You will be responsible for:

- To act in the full professional capacity as a QS & lead projects to ensure they are completed within a set budget and work autonomously by leading on cost planning and control of projects, having the ability to make ultimate decisions on the financial managementof projects.
- To undertake all aspects of cost planning and analysis, life cycle costing and budgetary control, providing cost advice at inception and feasibility stages of projects and when bidding for funding from external sources.
- Line management of Estimators.
- To liaise with both internal and external clients dealing with queries and requests for information, providing advice necessary to control costs and to maintain profitability for all projects.
- Receive working drawings and specifications and lead on the preparation of tender documents including schedules & bills of quantities, to meet client requirements, ensuring that costs are kept within the approved cost plan and budget. To analyse tenders andprepare reports for acceptance.
- Ensure that aspects of Health and Safety are properly observed in the office and on site and any other appointed duties are carried out in accordance with the C.D.M. Regs
- To understand the H&S responsibilities which fall within a manager's role and the personal H&S responsibilities
- To ensure that all activities are operated in accordance with legislation and Best Practice.
