As a key member of the Outpatient Pharmacy team, you will contribute to the provision of a range of pharmaceutical services: dispensing and issuing prescriptions, giving advice where appropriate, working alongside pharmacists and pharmacy technicians toensure all pharmacy duties are carried out in accordance with legal guidelines and departmental procedures to meet the needs of our customers.
This post would suit an individual with a hospital pharmacy background, or with community pharmacy experience wishing to make a change into the hospital environment.
You should have experience working as a qualified Pharmacist and have good communication skills and be competent in using computer systems to accurately process and record all pharmacy activity.
Once you have appropriate experience in our pharmacy and with required training completed, you will also take on the Responsible Pharmacist role during allocated shift hours, ensuring that all operations are safe and compliant.
Our opening times are Monday - Friday 8am 9pm, Weekends and Bank Holidays 9am-5pm. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week to meet the needs of the business on a Rota basis over the 7 days.

This role supports the Pharmacy Manager and provides day to day leadership and management for all Pharmacy Services when acting as Responsible Pharmacist.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Effective delivery of all aspects of the out-patient pharmacy services for King’s College Hospital London
- To provide leadership to and act as a role model for the support staff of KCH outpatient pharmacy.
- To fulfil the statutory responsibilities as required by the General Pharmaceutical Council and DoH.
- To contribute to the development of a high quality and timely outpatient service for patients.
- To develop an effective working relationship with prescribers.
- To contribute to the development of appropriate additional clinical or patient centred services.
- To contribute to the optimisation and development of the overall profitability of the business.
- To contribute to the efficient management and administration of the business
- Work collaboratively and supportively with the Superintendent Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager.
- To work collaboratively with the pharmacy manger to minimise the use of locum pharmacists.
- To work closely and collaboratively with specialist clinical pharmacists and service leads to deliver high standards of medicines management and optimisation for the benefit of patients, carers, and medical and nursing staff.
