Our client is a stalwart of the UK Removals and Storage Industry. A multi-branch, long term BAR member with a great reputation for quality.

They are now looking for a Branch Manager to join their team in Leeds. You will be reporting directly to the Group Operations General Manager and will be required to manage the Foremans, Estimators, Clerical Staff, Drivers, Porter/Packers and Warehouseman.

The main purpose of the role is to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the Branch and to employ Management techniques to achieve this objective.

**Main Tasks and Responsibilities of Job**:

- Develop and agree, with General Managers, a budget and profit plan for the branch
- Attend Management Meetings
- Review current programmes and performance against objectives
- Liaise with other branch Managers to review individual activities and problems
- Co-ordinate and direct Branch sales and Marketing activities
- Regularly review facility requirements
- Attend training and safety meetings within the company
- Establish, in conjunction with GM’s, pay plans and incentives for Branch Staff
- Make regular contact with other removers by attending BAR, IFWRI and other similar meetings
- Recruitment and dismissal of Branch Staff
- Co-ordinate, control and regularly appraise the work of sub-ordinates
- Ensure compliance of oneself and subordinates with the Health and Safety at work etc., 1974
- Establish and administer safety and security procedures
- Supervise and direct the training of staff
- Control the maintenance programme of all vehicles attached to the Branch and ensure their operation in accordance with legal requirements
- Visit existing and potential customers
- Always ensure good customer relations
- Carry out the work of sub-ordinates as and when required
- Complete and/or check all Branch operating, financial and personnel returns
- Calculate costs and rate for vehicles, labour, and warehousing
- Allocate vehicles and labour to individual removals
- Carry out routine checking of Drivers hours and records
- Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Directors
- Ensure compliance of oneself and subordinates with defined Quality System Policy and Procedures pertinent to ISO9002

**Major Responsibilities for Results**:

- Reduce establishment running costs in line with Company budget
- Expand sales revenue in line with the Company profit plan
- Improve efficiency of staff through increased motivation and improved working conditions
- Promote improved opportunities for staff training and development
- Increase efficiency by the economic scheduling of vehicles and crews
