**Job Description**:

- The Fine Art Warehouse Technician is responsible for the efficient and smooth running of the company’s storage facilities with particular emphasis on space utilisation, accurate record keeping, excellent client service and a safe and secure working environment. In addition this role includes, when necessary, driving and on
- site technical duties.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Man and control the Fine Art storage facilities ensuring that all items are safely and efficiently moved in and out based on client instructions. In doing so liaise with drivers and ensure the use of best practice lifting and handling techniques and safe use of equipment such as a fork lift truck.
- Undertake the packing of client items to company standards and, taking into account the nature of the item, its storage requirements, transportation and any installation/de-installation considerations.
- Ensure that all items are labelled, recorded and their location known at all times through the use of the company’s storage system. Utilise and complete in and out notes and other documentation as required by the company and understand how they relate to the sales and purchase order processes.
- Maintain under the supervision of the Operations Manager the security and safety of the warehouse and its environment, proactively checking, maintaining, replacing etc. as necessary
- Maintain the appearance and appropriate environment of the storage facility taking into account factors such as safety, storage conditions, space utilisation, ease of access and security - ensuring a positive impression is created for all client visit
- Develop business processes in line with company requirements to improve safety, quality, security and cost effectiveness of the warehouse activity
- Identify, report and manage risks to the business in accordance with quality management system and all relevant legal and statutory requirements.
- Undertake proactively and as requested other tasks that will help the smooth running of Fine Art and contribute ideas for improvement.
- Undertake when required, collections, deliveries and installations of fine art items in diverse locations as required by clients. These include art installations, galleries and artfairs.
- Provide an exceptional level of client service whilst meeting the time, quality and safety requirements of every job.
- Utilise all appropriate safety procedures for handling and moving items including the use of equipment and specialist techniques for handling of heavy items.
- Ensure that storage facilities and warehouses meet company, safety and client service standards
- Ensure that items are put into appropriate storage locations as soon as possible after arrival and that the location details are passed to the Operations manager without delay.
- Ensure that items required for release are pulled timely and accurately as per the release paperwork.

**PERSON PROFILE**
- Capable and willing to undertake physical activity in the handling, movement and installation of fine art items
- Fork lift truck experience
- Excellent communication skills with customers, suppliers and team members
- A strong focus on completing tasks to high standard and seeking better ways of working to improve safety, service, quality and cost effectiveness
