**WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY**
The Commercial Manager is a trusted and experienced commercial management leader who will provide strategic insight and management combined with rigour and structure. They will possess acute commercial awareness, excellent MS Excel and business metric understanding and have a proven analytical approach to problem solving. They will be able to communicate and influence across the business and be comfortable partnering across a variety of functions and international markets.
Responsibilities include
- Support Director of Sales on development and implementation of commercial growth strategies
- Management of global key deals including strategy, managing submission team, creation of proposal document, pricing and legal & financial review.
- Work with Regional Managers and sales teams supporting negotiation and agreement of projects/ tenders
- Direct commercial involvement with customers as part of commercial project negotiation/ delivery as part of an initial sales review through to contract award
- Provide analysis and insight on commercial and market trends, including key or strategic opportunities, providing options and scenarios for decision making
- Work regularly with global Regional Managers to review market forecast against actuals and adapt strategy as required
- Oversee annual commercial forecasting process with ongoing review throughout the year
- Liaise with group Finance function to ensure financial estimates reflect best available commercial information
- Reviewing commercial and project structures and providing recommendations to Director of Sales
- Identify areas of business improvement, including commercial process, and drive through change to ensure key commercial, operational and financial targets are achieved
- Present commercial results to senior management as required/ requested
- Continually challenge current thinking and make recommendations on how to optimise business opportunities and minimise risk/cost to the business.
- Evaluate and report actual versus planned outcomes of key regional strategic and tactical decisions
- Develop, implement and oversee rigour across all commercial activities
**WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED**
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with an ability to manage a cross-functional team on tight deadlines
- Experience in both the creation of professional level commercial proposals and the management of a multi-functional team towards delivery of a winning proposal
- Strong commercial acumen and financial awareness with an ability to translate into strategy.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with proactive approach
- Ability to review a situation or opportunity, identify the key drivers and develop a strategy for success
- Professional and customer focused manner with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organisation to both influence and inform
- Flexible and adaptable to new processes and change
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelors degree or higher
**Essential**
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercially focused role
- Excellent commercial acumen, along with strong project management and analytical skills
- Experience in a global business environment including differing business drivers, cultural considerations, currency
- Strong understanding of business metrics (commercial, financial, operational)
- Ability to manage teams, strong communicator and detail orientated
- Willingness to travel internationally if required
