Happy Days Derriford Nursery is looking to recruit a part time 1:1 support assistant for a child on a 25 hours a week contract.
Working as an additional support member, often supporting on a one-to-one basis as required, supporting observations, planning and assessment for individual children alongside carrying out activities and personal care needs.
We are looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for providing quality childcare. **A little bit about the role**
- Build effective relationships and fully engage with children, parents and colleagues to deliver the best possible service and care
- Learn how to create safe and stimulating environments in line with the EYFS and Happy Days ethos
- Learn how to observe, assess and plan to support the individual needs of children
- Understand and implement safeguarding, health and safety and welfare policies
**What skills & experience do you need**
- Ideally an NVQ Level 2 early years qualification or relevant working experience
- Evident enthusiasm for working with children and delivering high quality childcare/early years education
- Good organisational skills with an ability to plan own work and resources
- Ability to establish good relationships with parents - demonstrating a welcoming and approachable persona
- Good understanding of the policies and practices within a childcare setting
- Has a continuous learning ethos and dedication to maintaining and improving high standards
- Strong team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Good, confident and honest communicator
- Demonstrates strong initiative and ability to think on their feet
