Job Description: Packing Operative

Position Summary:
The Packing Operative plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient packaging and handling of products for distribution. Working within a production or warehouse environment, the Packing Operative is responsible for accurately and safely preparing items for shipment according to company standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and pack products according to packing instructions, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
- Dispatching of goods via royal mail, DPD and other couriers.
- Inspect products for defects, damage, or discrepancies before packaging, and report any issues to supervisors.
- Knowledge of dispatch systems.
- Ensure that packaged items are properly sealed, wrapped, or secured to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including packaging stations and storage areas, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines, and assist in other areas of the production process as needed.
- Follow inventory control procedures to track and record stock levels, usage, and replenishment requirements.
- Adhere to quality control standards and procedures to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulations regarding health, safety, and environmental practices.

Qualifications:

- A Level or equivalent; additional education or training in manufacturing or logistics is a plus.
- Previous experience in packing, assembly, or warehouse operations preferred the ability to use manual dispatch systems.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and manual dexterity for handling and packaging products.
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and calculating quantities.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift, carry, and move objects.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to meeting productivity and quality standards.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities and tasks.

Pay: £21,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
