We are seeking a skilled and motivated **Combined Assurance Officer **to join the Risk division of a leading bank, based in Manchester.

***The **Combined Assurance Officer** will assist in the effective execution of the agreed assurance reviews in line with the Combined Assurance Methodology. As a **Combined Assurance Officer** the role will include the development and execution of testing plans, documenting and recording any issues identified and, where required, create accurate and concise reports that effectively communicate the review scope and findings, including root cause of any issues identified to stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities of the Combined Assurance Officer**:

- Assist in planning and scoping assurance reviews, following the Combined Assurance Methodology. Develop detailed testing plans and seek approval.
- Support the delivery of assurance reviews, taking a leading role in testing to ensure quality and timely execution.
- Accurately document findings during testing, providing robust evidence and creating evidence-based reports with clear root cause identification.
- Monitor and track issue closure progress after reviews, maintaining up-to-date and accurate records. Obtain necessary approvals and validate evidence for sustainable issue and action resolution.
- Provide accurate and up-to-date management information, supporting reporting to relevant committees. Analyse information for trend identification and systemic issues.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including business stakeholders, colleagues, and Internal Audit.
- Undertake additional assurance-related activities as directed, contributing to team effectiveness and adapting to changing business needs.
- Actively support the development of the Combined Assurance team, sharing knowledge and participating in training initiatives. Promote a robust risk culture, emphasizing effective risk identification and management.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments to ensure compliance standards are upheld.

**The Combined Assurance Officer will ideally have the following skills**:

- Experience in conducting various Assurance or Audit testing activities.
- Working knowledge of relevant risk topics, including FCA handbooks and regulations like the Data Protection Act and JMLSG.
- Ability to identify important conduct, compliance, credit, and operational risks.
- Skilled in establishing and nurturing relationships across different organizational levels.
- Actively contributes to the team, promoting collaboration and cooperation.
- Strong attention to detail, effective planning, and organizational skills.
- Independent worker with a curious and proactive approach to challenging the status quo.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of engaging and influencing business stakeholders, including senior management.
- Proficient in analysing large or complex data sets.
- Ability to effectively handle management information and reporting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in QC, Assurance, or Audit.
- Qualification in Compliance or Audit Practice (desirable).
- Membership of a Professional Body (desirable).
