This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is seeking an opportunity to be an Apprentice Speech & Language Therapy, Associate Practitioner, within an innovative Children’s Neurodiversity Service.

You will be joining an established team of Speech and Language Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Specialist Nurses and Assistant Psychologists, within an established autism Pathway. The pathway sits within a Children’s Neurodiversity Service. This multi-disciplinary Service provides assessment and interventions for young people with a Learning Disability, ADHD, Autism and Long-Term Health Conditions.

This developmental band 3-4 post will enable you to undertake a Speech and Language apprenticeship degree, whilst you work closely with the autism team to gain the essential skills, knowledge, and behaviours for this new role.

Upon successful completion of the apprentice degree, you will progress into the Band 4 role of Speech & Language Therapy Associate Practitioner.

The Apprentice Speech and Language Therapy Associate Practitioner will be based in the Children’s Autism Pathway, within the Neurodiversity Service. The role is to deliver effective assessments to individuals, whilst an autism assessment is undertaken.

There will be an expectation that the Assistant Practitioner will hold a caseload of young people, under supervision from the Speech and Language Therapist and Clinical Team Leader. The post holder will ensure that service provision meets the young person’s needs in line with best practice, standards, and legislative frameworks.
