An opportunity has arisen for an Employer Engagement Officer within our aspire2lead Team, reporting to the aspire2lead Project Manager.
Aspire2Lead (A2L) is an exciting project that addresses gender inequality and supports women to achieve their potential and contribute to the growth of businesses in the York and North Yorkshire LEP.
Although this project is specifically aiming to support women in employment, this vacancy is open to individuals of all gender identities.
Aspire2lead is part-funded by the European Social Fund.
**Employer Engagement Officer Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the delivery of the marketing strategy and activities to promote the project and delivery strands to employers.
- Engage and work with employers to assess their needs and enable them to participate in the project, accessing support for their workforce.
- Maintain contact with the employers throughout the project delivery period to enable them to make connections to all relevant strands of activities that may be beneficial and of interest to them and their workforce.
- Satisfy employer requests for practical support and help them to overcome barriers to accessing this support.

The successful Employer Engagement Officer will engage with businesses and self-employed women, to access support for their workforce /themselves to address gender inequalities and contribute to business growth.
**Employer Engagement Officer Requirements**:
Essential
- Experience of employer engagement activities.
- Experience of presenting information to a wide variety of audiences.
- Experience of supporting businesses to address their workforce skills needs.
- Used to managing a caseload of businesses to overcome barriers to their growth.
- Willingness to undergo training as required
- Satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
- Ability to travel to sites within the region.
- An acceptance and commitment to the principles of the Company’s Equal Opportunities policies and practices.
- An understanding and acceptance of the importance of diversity in the workplace.

Desirable
- Understanding of the barriers faced by employers in achieving gender equality in their workforce.
- Understanding of the current issues and developments relating to skills and inclusive business growth.
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to customers’ needs.
- Able to organise own workload effectively with minimum supervision.
- Understanding of administrative and regulatory obligations on ESIF funded programmes or similar.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current legislation including Equal Opportunities, Data Protection, Health and Safety, Child Protection, CEG, Substance Abuse.
- Understanding of common barriers to engagement and progression in work or training.
