**Principal Designer**

Here within Anglian Water, we collaborate with a number of alliance partners to provide the best water and water recycling services across the region by maintaining our existing assets and undertaking new projects to safeguard future water supplies.

Playing a key part in our drive to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to Love Every Drop is our Integrated Operational Solutions (IOS) Alliance. Comprising Anglian Water, Morrison Water Services, Barhale and Kier, the IOS Alliance work together to concentrate on solutions across the water recycling and clean water asset base, typically totalling £50-60m per year.

To ensure we keep at the forefront of the water industry to deliver safe, sustainable, and affordable water and water recycling services across the region, it is vital our construction projects are managed with Health & Safety at the heart of all our activities.

With this in mind, we are looking for a number of Principal Designers to join the IOS Alliance located across the region to take responsibility and accountability for signing off preconstruction information.

**What you will be doing as our new Principal Designer?**

Researching and developing insight to drive solutions, you’ll take account of any pre
- construction information, eliminate foreseeable health and safety risks to anyone affected by the project and take steps to reduce or control any risks that cannot be eliminated.

**Responsibilities**:

- Undertake problem research and definition including navigating, collecting, and interpreting information relevant to projects and design problems
- Create a fun, dynamic and challenging environment for a team of Designers to develop their careers whilst enhancing team outputs
- Organise testing and surveys when required
- Work with the team to find effective, simple, safe, and efficient solutions to clearly defined problems
- Organise, chair and minute design reviews and progress meetings
- Create and contribute to relevant Design documents including P&ID, GA’s, Layouts, Specifications, and schedules
- Add to the library of understanding of problems and solutions
- Bring innovations into the assets base

To join us on our quest for industry-leading engineering solutions, you’ll hold a degree in a relevant technical field and be a member of a relevant professional body. Professional experience as a Designer in the construction industry is essential to ensure you fully understand the Health & Safety requirements of key design work.

Confident in researching issues and creatively solving problems, you’ll be able to produce clear design documents underpinned by sound applied mathematics and be confident in leading teams and key stakeholders to ensure safety is never compromised.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £49,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
