There is the opportunity to drive the strategy of internal audit, and develop our methodology/approach to internal processes. This function covers all parts of the business.There will be certain key partnerships within the firm that you'll need to form and it's essential that you become a key member of the Octopus family. You'll be working closely with the other members of the internal audit team to help set up and design theinternal audit programme.You'll be an experienced Senior Internal Auditor with a proven track record of performing high quality end-to-end internal audit reviews within the Financial Services sector. We're looking for someone with the ability to build lastingrelationships with Senior Management, a solid understanding of financial and operational processes and controls, and key regulatory and compliance areas within investment management, covering multiple asset classes.Key responsibilities: To position internalaudit as a valued and respected department within the organisation. Take ownership for the end to end audit review process from design and scope through to delivery and reporting. Coach and support junior members of the team through audit reviews as well astaking responsibility for review of their work. Assist with developing the annual risk based Internal Audit Plan. Development and maintenance of audit methodologies. Accurate, appropriate and timely reporting to all stakeholders. Periodic follow up on thestatus of actions taken by management in implementing audit recommendations. Business partnering with key 2nd line of defence teams e.g. Risk and Compliance. Identify emerging industry and regulatory issues and assess their implications. Qualifications Proveninternal audit and related work experience. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, AAT, CIMA) or relevant internal audit or similar qualification (CIA, CISA). Working at a medium/top tier audit practice or similar role in industry. Self-starter with the abilityto work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Exposure to the financial services sector and an understanding of applicable regulatory requirements. Are passionate about internal audit with the motivation and drive to be successful in a competitiveindustry. Are a hands-on person who is always on the lookout for better ways of doing things and will enjoy the challenge of building and growing a developing team.
