We are excited to be recruiting for an Indirect Buyer (9-month FTC) for our client in Fareham. Our client is a growing global business with a presence in over 40 countries. This is an excellent opportunity to further your buying expertise and get involved with industry leaders in an international and collaborative environment.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Purchasing of products and services in support of business operations.
- Obtaining quotes from vendors, negotiating prices, terms, and lead time, creating purchase orders, and tracking orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Develop business relationships with strategic partners and suppliers, and partner with finance members and stakeholders to ensure sourcing decisions are made with the company’s best interests at the forefront.
- Contract negotiation where required, contract writing and working with legal teams, and review of contracts.
- Plan purchases against business requirements and establish appropriate inventory levels/services to ensure continuity of supply.
- Undertake routine purchase order administration (order placement, receipt, invoice approval), investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Accountable for category savings targets and performance measures.
- Participation in company audits both internal and external as required.
- Provide a range of data and reports on purchasing and inventory activity to allow management, budgetary and expense reviews to be carried out.
**About You**:
- Good knowledge and experience of working within a purchasing and sourcing environment.
- Experience with contract negotiation, contract writing, review of contracts, and understanding of contract law is required.
- Experience with Oracle, Agile or BAAN is ideal.
- Intermediate level experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Able to work with inventory levels and manage supply requirements, SOW’s, tenders and process.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Good level of analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
