Housing Support Worker

Our client is seeking a Housing Support Officer to join their welcoming organisation on a permanent basis.
This is a full time position, 37.5 hours per week Monday - Sunday to include evening, weekend and bank holidays. Shifts vary 8am - 4pm, and 10am - 8pm.
The yearly salary will be 24,042. Parking is available and the site is accessible via public transport.
The purpose of this position is to assist in the day to day running of the accommodation, meeting client needs through a high quality service which enables individuals to address their support needs, any behaviour issues, and to ultimately prepare for apositive move-on.
To effectively manage a caseload that provides constructive guidance to clients through dynamic support planning, oversee individual rent accounts that minimise the risk of arrears and loss of accommodation.
To deliver individual and group activities that provide opportunities and experiences where residents may learn and develop life skills in a safe, accepting environment. Assist service users to a position of being able to hold down full time employment andthe ability to maintain their own tenancy ensuring that the highest standards of delivery are obtained towards the positive transformation in the lives of young people.
Daily Duties:
- To research and interview new referrals in line with the Allocation and Exclusion policies.
- Issuing welcome letters to new residents and ensuring the relevant documentation is completed for residents moving in and out.
- To manage individual rent accounts in line with department procedures.
- To work with individual residents on issues concerning their social, money management and employment skills and those personal matters that effect their ability to develop in body, mind and spirit.
- To conduct regular support plans with residents.
- To work as part of a team in creating a positive community atmosphere and ensuring behaviours are in line with the conditions of the Licence Agreement.
- To engage and lead residential and non-residential group activities offering residents opportunities for personal growth.
- Work with residents to achieve a positive move on, identifying resettlement options available.
- To challenge negative behaviours within your client group.
- To lead workshops around issues of personal development or social skills.
