Goodman Masson have partnered with a market leading insurer to assist with their search for an experienced Reconciliation Accountant to join their London team for an initial 12 month fixed term contract.

You will be joining an established UK Coverholder finance team and will be responsible for ensuring that premium and claims for the business coverholders or internal service companies are matched to actual cash transactions and matched to the general ledger.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure proper processes and reconciliation for a defined book of business as allocated by team members
- Ensure controls are in place to identify errors in processing or submission by finance or by operations teams
- Sign off reconciliation status on a monthly basis to finance managers
- Ensure premiums and claims bordereaux have been matched to cash received or paid in bank by liaising with credit controller and claims assistants. To ensure any discrepancies are identified and rectified on a timely basis
- Documenting and periodically reviewing bordereaux reconciliation for service companies, making recommendations for process efficiencies and ensure these are implemented
- Create user manuals and adhoc documentation on coverholder processes
- Other Adhoc duties when required

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:

- General accounting knowledge
- Previous experience of working in a reconciliation role is preferable
- Experience and knowledge of Xchanging processes advantageous, in particular knowledge of premiums and claims processing requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Strong communicator, able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders
