We're looking for a Nursery Practitioner to provide a safe, stimulating, educational and fun environment for children attending Sutton Day Nursery based at Sutton Sports Village, in Surrey. Our Nurseries provide childcare and welfare for children of up to five years of age, so it’s imperative that the facilities and surroundings provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment.

High quality early learning and care which is in line with Early Years Foundation Stage requirements will be key to your role. You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills as you’ll work with colleagues and partners to integrate the nursery with the wider children’s services brand to help identify and support the needs of local families with young children.

Ideally you’ll have experience of working with children under five years of age but training will be provided. Knowledge of the EYFS framework and principles plus safeguarding issues, procedures and an understanding of equality and diversity issues would be beneficial in this role. It goes without saying you’ll be a confident team member with a positive driven approach and attitude.

Daily Duties:
1. To provide a safe environment in which high quality care and education meets the individual needs of children attending the setting.
2. Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
3. To ensure that children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow child protection procedures
4. To advise the Manager of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
5. To encourage and develop the children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences.
6. Under supervision, support and provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding.

**Qualifications required**

Ideally you’ll hold Maths and English GCSE's to level A-C / 4-9 in order to undertake a Level 3 qualification.

**Future prospects**

A Nursery Practitioner will typically progress into a Senior Practitioner role where they will be assigned a designated Room Lead with responsibility for the staff and children in that room/age group. Further progression would be to move up to Deputy Manager and then Nursery Manager.
