**Software Design Lead**

We have an opportunity for a Senior Software Lead to join the Technology Foundation team. This role is not so ‘hands on’ but will lead, define and develop the development lifecycle as well as the tools and standards to be used in the business and by 3rd parties, establishing the necessary governance.

In addition, you will:

- Be visible to all your internal stakeholders, using your experience to influence others on the design of the technology, fielding and responding to challenges
- Create and develop software design principles and standards and implement across the business and with all 3rd party supplies, ensuring clear understanding of our standards is adopted
- Manage 3rd party supplier relationships and implement auditing measures to ensure standards and principles are maintained
- Collaborate to project delivery roadmaps, performing code reviews, providing consultancy and input into designs and reporting on quality
- Lead and coach a team, providing development and training opportunities

To be successful, you will have
- Proven and demonstrable experience of programming experience preferably in Java and Web development
- Experience of creating and implementing design principles and standards and auditing the principles
- Experience of managing 3rd party suppliers, managing quality of standards of design
- Demonstrative experience of influencing and collaboration at all levels
- Ability to lead and develop a team
