My client is an established Biotechnology company involved in the production and screening of a variety of biological molecules/compounds. They are at an exciting growth phase and have a requirement for a **Principal Scientist** to lead and organise the team.

You and your team will design, organize and conduct highly specialized and advanced experiments using established scientific protocols and procedures and, in some cases, designing new protocols; summarize findings and prepare reports for customers and formarketing material as appropriate; provide supervision and guidance to junior technicians, students, and researchers.

The work will require UK and international travel to conferences, suppliers and customer sites to collect samples and present data.

You will also be required to:

- Collect, prepare and analyse research data; keep a detailed notebook summarizing experiments and recording research data; maintain computer database of research data; tabulate and display data for presentation in customer project reports or marketing purposes;use graphics and statistical software to analyse and present data.
- Assist with ordering and procurement of supplies and equipment and with general maintenance of laboratory.

To be considered, you will:

- Be an experienced Lab Head/Principal Scientist as you will have a PhD Senior Scientist, Senior Technician and Junior Technician reporting to you.
- Ideally have a PhD with experience working in biotech or pharmaceuticals or related industries.
- Have a proactive mindset with strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
- Have lab management experience with a proven track record of managing and leading laboratory operations and staff.

HPLC and Mass spec expertise or and/or peptide chemistry are desirable
