Speaking to the HR Director of this medium sized building supplies firm - who have just completed their 15th acquisition, with several more planned this year and recently floated the business - she was giving me a run-down of the TUPE’s she was dealing with,while juggling several HR projects, and managing a HR function.
Much to her relief she has now got the green light for an HR Manager who will work with her and take over the operational side of HR. And manage a small HR function.
The HRD, is a force of nature. Says what she thinks, and even though she is juggling a lot she takes it all in her stride, sees the humour in it all with a very infectious laugh. She has been down here for several years - what she thought would be a stopgap has kept her engaged and committed as the business has doubled in size and is not slowing down any-time soon.
So, this is a newly created HR Manager role, supporting a small HR team and working with the HR Director. She wants someone who will work with her, and not for her. She works closely with the CEO so visibility of the business strategy is clear.
With new businesses coming on board HR is focused on the new people coming into the group and retaining, engaging and developing all. Even though we need someone with strong and broad HR Generalist experience, there are a stack of HR projects coming through.
It’s a role you can make your own, and being a new position you can certainly make an impression.
The role is based in NW10, and will be supporting a population of 560 over 45 sites (this will increase by the time you start).
They are based a short walk from Willesden Junction. A 35 hour week, with raft of benefits, including a bonus.
