What is the purpose of the Manufacturing Engineering Technician role?
- Support New Product and Process Introductions during first time manufacture
- Help to create and maintain appropriate documentations
- Support current product portfolio with cost-out, yield improvements, daily operational assistance & legacy product with the ability to draw on similar process and product experiences.
- Teach, train and mentor others on all aspects of their chosen discipline.
What will be the responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineering Technician?
- Working under the guidance of the Manufacturing Engineering teams to actively support operations with the manufacture of product.
- To set and operate equipment with a high level of confidence.
- Generate work instruction sheets and conduct any appropriate training.
- Check accuracy of parts using appropriate measurement tools.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to rectify errors.
- Obtain and maintain 'Approval status' for relevant equipment and processes.
- Work on own initiative and resolve any issues or problems to company specific procedures.
- The ability to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
- Ensure all training responsibilities are current, relevant and teams are trained and confident with deployment.
What skills and experience will the Manufacturing Engineering Technician have?
- Confident and competent to work within a fast paced environment to aerospace standards, or similar.
- Extensive knowledge of running, setting and programming Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens or similar machine tool controls to manufacture complex components from both solid and casting raw material.
- Active experience in performing operational tasks on Multi-axis, Multi discipline machines including Mill-Turn, 5th Axis Milling and CNC Grinding
- Ability to define / design work holding, cutting tools and insert requirements for Aerospace materials.
- Conversant with Manufacturing Measurement Techniques
- using appropriate measurement equipment.
- Ideally, Apprentice Qualified with ONC/ HNC engineering qualification or equivalent.
- Technical proficiency supported with relevant supplementary courses.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
- Knowledge or willing to undertake training in:
- 3D modelling using Solidworks, or similar.
- Automation using Cobotics.
- Edgecam offline Programming.
- 3D Printing (Additive Manufacture).
