**The role in a nutshell**

**Backend development of databases, data models and data centric services focused on MS SQL Server

**Improve database maintenance and deployment using modern tools and processes

**Work closely with the architecture team to develop a strategy to move their database infrastructure

**Roughly 70% development and 30% maintenance when working on ongoing projects and new business.

**Must haves**

**Expert MS SQL Server knowledge including T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers and Views

**In-depth knowledge of database design principles such as Query Optimisation, indexes, statistics and isolation levels

**Experience of CI/CD Pipelines, Agile Database Deployments & Git Version control

**Knowledge of automated database deployment tools, such as Liquibase

**Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster recovery strategies

**What will make you stand out**

**Experience of cloud based database technology such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL

**Experience of working with Agile Methodologies, Preferably Scrum

**Knowledge of backend development in C# /.NET Core and above

**Azure DevOps
