Our client is an Oxfordshire based biotechnology company who specialise in novel approaches to drug targeting and delivery to support a new class of therapeutics.

Due to continued company growth our client is now seeking and experience Scientist to join the Process Development team and support with Upstream Process Development.

**The role**:
Working within the Process Development the primary focus of the role is to support the development of Upstream processing through:

- Optimisation of mammalian cell culture in batch, fed batch and perfusion process
- Effective cell culture from small-scale to process scale up (from 2L to 200L performance)
- Support of routine analytical testing (SDS Page, W.Blotting, Biochemical Assays and ELISA)
- Support in Technology Transfer
- Work in close collaboration with other internal departments to continually progress process development
- Ensure work is compliant with GMO/ACDP requirements

**Suitable applicants**:
This position would suit an ambitious and motivated scientist looking to utilise and build-upon their experience within Upstream Process Development.

Key Experience includes:

- PhD in a relevant discipline (or BSc/MSc plus equivalent experience) with industry experience in process development
- Proven industry experience in mammalian cell culture, process development and scale-up, ideally within proteins or viral products
- Familiar with bioreactor systems
- Experience with basal medium, feed development and optimisation
- Experience with the development of perfusion process would be beneficial
- Familiar with in-process analytical methods for mammalian cell culture
