- The post holder will utilise their technical knowledge of geo-environmental consultancy, to carry out geo-environmental investigation, assessment, reporting, remediation verification, environmental risk surveys and project management of environmental projects. In addition, the postholder will hold responsibility for the technical and financial performance of any project on which they are deployed.

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Leading and supervising project management of Land Quality projects, relating to Transactions, Development and Compliance
- Liaison with all stakeholders including clients, contractors and regulatory bodies
- Undertaking site investigations to determine the extent and severity of impact and assessing Geoenvironmental risks
- Planning of site investigations, monitoring, remedial and validation works
- Logging of soils during investigations to a high standard and in accordance with best practice
- Preparing health, safety and environmental documentation including risk assessments and method statements along with reporting of H&S near misses and positive observations
- Scheduling and interpretation of field and laboratory data
- Production of interpretive environmental reports including conceptual site models (CSM) and preliminary (PRA) and generic quantitative risk assessments (GQRA)
- Undertaking and supporting the design, implementation and verification of environmental remediation works
- Undertaking environmental risk surveys of operational establishments to determine environmental risks and compliance issues.
- Providing Environmental Permitting advice and completing permit compliance investigation and testing.
- Demonstrating a commitment to ensuring consistently high levels of safety, technical robustness, commercial awareness, organisation and customer satisfaction
- Undertaking quality assurance and safety performance audits
- Participating in business development activities as a technical advisor and managing key clients
- Writing high standard reports which are technically sound and commercially focused.
- Any other task assigned by supervision for which the post holder is qualified and experienced to undertake. This will include the support of wider business operations (such as environmental claims or incident response projects) where a particular skill set is required or to maintain utilisation during any quieter periods.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- A degree in a relevant earth sciences, or geo-environmental discipline and, ideally, be a member of a relevant professional organisation
- 2-3 years' work experience in managing land quality projects, carrying out geo-environmental / contaminated land surveys and site investigations, with knowledge of available drilling techniques
- Possess knowledge of remediation technologies for contaminated soil and groundwater
- Have knowledge and experience of assessment of geotechnical risks and foundation design for new developments.
- Have an understanding of how hazardous liquid storage facilities operate, including primary, secondary and tertiary containment measures; and understand how to assess operational environmental risks.
- A working knowledge of Land Contamination Risk Management (LCRM) and BS1
