This is an excited role for someone with experience in a commercial environment that is looking to progress in their buying career

**The roles and responsibilities of this Assistant Buyer role: -**
- Analyse the budgeted sales, gross margin, and margin rate for the categories.
- Ensure the company pricing policy is maintained within the retail prices for categories.
- Create promotional activity within the categories and in line with the company promotional strategy.
- To negotiate additional sales such as overriding discounts and advertising support to predetermined budgets.
- Liaise with suppliers to expedite deliveries and resolve any issues relating to delivery.
- Review the monthly performance and provide report based on results.
- Ensure store queries relevant to the allocated categories, are dealt with in a timely and complete manner

**To be successful in this Assistant Buyer role:

- **
- Buying experience and expertise typically gained over a period of at least 1-2 years.
- Experience in food retail (desirable but not essential).
- Exceptional commercial acumen.
- Has a strong analytical skills and process minded.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
