A **Public Sector client**is on the lookout for a **Software Development Officer** where you will work under the direction of the Regional Cyber Crime Prepare supervisor developing bespoke software in support of the team and ROCUobjectives and responsible for the following outputs;
- Produce, or assist in the production of the Application Functional Specification and the Technical Specification and subsequently produce program specifications for team members to work to.
- Utilise design/development tools in accordance with development and documentation standards to create efficient, well documented, reusable code ensuring that ongoing support and future enhancements can be carried out effectively.
- Conduct coding reviews and propose design changes that will either improve the maintainability, functionality or performance of the solution.
- Monitor and contribute to professional/expert sources of help, guidance and best practice, e.g. MSDN, Internet discussion groups, to maximise code re-use and ensure that contemporary, industry standard practices and tools are adopted.

**What are they looking for?**
- Knowledge of data access principles and experience in writing database access software
- Degree in Computer Studies OR equivalent OR relevant training.
- Willingness and ability to travel for business purposes
- Need to have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum of 5 years and happy to go through vetting and background procedures
