At our recently upgraded site at King George Dock we operate the UK’s largest refinery for edible oils and fats. We supply businesses in the sectors of food manufacturing, baking, Foodservice and retail, and we work closely with customers to co-develop bespokeproducts.
**About the role**
AAK are seeking to appoint a Mechanical Engineer to join the Hull Engineering team, working Monday - Friday in a challenging but exciting role. The role will be responsible for supporting the maintenance team daily and providing engineering support for solutionsto plant issues.
Main responsibilities will include:

- To provide efficient solutions to the development of processes and products and to identify and implement plant improvements to bring equipment back to design.
- Provide reliability support reliability principles, identify plant criticality status for key equipment. Develop and review bad actors and poor performance through downtime analysis.
- Support key maintenance activities to reduce downtime and reactive maintenance and move to planned work
- Develop and implement repair and maintenance procedures to improve reliability, and safety standards.
- Implement good maintenance principles through condition monitoring not limited to any technique, also review and implement PPM’s as directed by engineering best practice or OEM engagement
- Implement reliability practices through owning and operate vulnerability and bad actor processes based on downtime reviews and equipment reviews and criticality studies. Ensure we have the correct critical spares
- Work alongside maintenance to support the organisation to coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with their operations. From area shutdowns to annual plant shutdowns to ensure engineering activities are planned and effective
- Support the development of shared engineering standards across site and other AAK facilities
- Manage relationships with external contractors
- Support stores to ensure our critical spares are stocked and managed
- Support and develop PSSR, management of change process, LOLER, PUWER assessments on equipment

**About you**:

- Time served HNC/ HND in Engineering is essential. Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline would be desirable.
- Working knowledge of Maintenance Management and techniques
- IOSH Managing safely (NEBOSH ideal)
- Computer literate
- Proven leadership capabilities
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to manage and prioritise workloads.
