Head of Apprenticeships

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Apprenticeships to work for a company that operates as a college and is rated by Ofsted as ‘Good’ with some ‘Outstanding’ features.
The company is a “non for profit” and award-winning with an excellent reputation for looking after its employees.
This is a hybrid-based position that will involve being based at their offices in Hertfordshire twice a week, alongside the flexibility required to travel for management and client meetings and one to one’s with the Apprenticeship delivery team.
As an experienced Head of Apprenticeships you can expect the following salary and benefits:

- A starting salary between £47000-£50000
- 30 days+ public holidays
- Hybrid working, with all any travel expenses reimbursed at 45pence per mile from home

This training provider delivers a wide range of apprenticeship qualifications in Leadership and Management, Retail, Health and Social Care, and Business Services.
As Head of Apprenticeships, you will lead, manage and promote the Apprenticeship provision in line with the Group's strategic plans
Summary of duties and responsibilities of the Head of Apprenticeships will include:

- Being responsible for the delivery of Apprenticeships within the chosen standards.
- Provide effective leadership to a team of delivery staff, ensuring a consistent quality of service is delivered to clients and learners.
- Implement strategies to improve the quality of Apprenticeship delivery
- Lead on the funding and performance management for apprenticeships, ensuring the college can deliver substantial assurance outcomes in internal and external audits and compliance with funding rules.
- Continue to foster and develop excellent employer relationships with key large national levy-paying clients, with responsibility for our team of Account Managers.
- Lead and manage significant external/key stakeholder relationships such as EPAOs, Provider Network groups, and alike.
- Lead a team of programme managers and tutors who deliver the apprenticeship programmes both regionally and nationally, with a particular focus on the management and professional solutions portfolio.
- Work alongside the Head of Apprenticeships (Teaching, Learning & Assessment) to continually develop and deliver a creative, client-responsive and outstanding Apprenticeship portfolio.
- Be accountable for ensuring the commercial viability of the apprenticeship provision, and managing budgets to ensure key performance targets such as revenue, cost and contribution are achieved.
- Be accountable for the quality of Apprenticeship administration, using data and reports to continually drive-up overall achievement rates and revenue generation opportunities.
- Quality assurance of learner data held ensuring that it is accurate and meets correct funding requirements (ILR) and using data reports to measure and drive overall performance of achievement rates.
- Help develop and implement strategies to be included within the SAR and QIP
Skills and experience required for the Head of Apprenticeships
- Proven track record of managing and inspiring teams of Managers and delivery staff including Trainer/Assessors/Skills Coaches
- Extensive experience in managing outstanding apprenticeship programs
- Knowledge and experience of Ofsted and ability to support delivery teams to develop towards outstanding results
- Up-to-date knowledge of ESFA funding rules
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and other data management packages and e-portfolio systems.
- Strong stakeholder and communication skills with the ability to develop a supportive and learner-focused environment
- A proven track record in Budget Management maintaining and improving Quality Assurance processes and systems
- Knowledge of Professional Service Apprenticeship including Leadership and Management, alongside managing Levy Clients would be an advantage, but not essential
- Assessment & Relevant teacher training qualification - DTLLS/Cert Ed would be desirable, alongside an L5 Qualification in Leadership and Management
- Full UK Driving License and access to own car is required
