**M&E QS - Commercial projects - Permanent - Newmarket**

A leading Mechanical and Electrical Contractor have an exciting opportunity for an M&E QS to join their expanding business in Newmarket, Suffolk. They are a well-established business who work in a wide range of sectors including Education, Commercial, Health,Residential, Pharmaceutical and Industrial across the East Anglia region. They operate as a complete services contractor undertaking projects up to the value of £13m.
The purpose of this role is to provide day to day support to the senior management and M&E Contracts Managers, by assisting in a range of specific activities within the contracts department.
The role is open to experienced M&E QS but also open to junior applicants with M&E experience who are looking to pursue a career in Quantity Surveying.
Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:

- Placing sub-contractor orders, including pre-selection interviews, negotiation of contract total and agreeing their final accounts
- Work in partnership with Project Managers to ensure contract requirements and deadlines.
- Provide assistance to the Contracts Managers with negotiation of project final accounts.
- Attend and participate in site meetings and performance reviews.
- Taking a project from handover to validation to final account.
- Advising on legal and contractual issues.
- Ensure commercial compliance of current contracts, protecting the position of the company.
- Assist in the identification of potential risks and opportunities on projects.
Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:

- Ideally Degree Qualified M&E Quantity Surveyor.
- High level of maths skills with a good working knowledge of ICT.
- Analytical with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office.
