The School of Engineering is recruiting to a full time role of Taught Programmes Assistant supporting the School’s Undergraduate Degree Apprenticeship (DA) Programmes. The role will be part of a small team who provide comprehensive administrative support to the School’s DA programmes, supporting colleagues and students on their journey from recruitment through to graduation.

You will also proactively contribute and assist with the School’s preparation for student’s induction, Welcome Week, enrolment, graduation and award ceremonies, widening participation and outreach events etc. As well as contributing to the development and ongoing review of working practices and operating procedures within the School and to respond to changes in School and University policies and systems.

You will be resourceful, self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will have experience of working and communicating with senior members of staff and will have excellent time management and judgement allowing you to prioritise an extensive and varied workload. Previous experience of working in a student administration role would be an advantage but is not essential.

**JOB PURPOSE**

Responsible for the provision of comprehensive administrative support to the degree apprenticeship programmes, supporting colleagues and students, on their journey from recruitment through to graduation.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

Administration of the degree apprenticeship courses within the School of Engineering and liaison with other departments in relation to the administration of degree apprenticeship programmes e.g. WBPL.

Operation of agreed systems, processes and procedures to support the degree apprenticeship provision. This will include using central systems such as Tabula, OneFile, E-vision to support the administration of teaching and learning in the School.

To proactively contribute and assist with the School's preparation for apprentice’s induction, enrolment, block teaching weeks graduation and award ceremonies etc.

To undertake routine administrative tasks including booking rooms and refreshments, arranging meetings, carrying out filing and archiving, data inputting and data extraction from university databases, photocopying and the collation and distribution of documentation as required to support the administration of the School's degree apprenticeship programmes.

To contribute to the development and ongoing review of working practices and operating procedures within the School and to respond to changes in School policies and systems and to centrally-driven initiatives that affect degree apprenticeship student administration.

To support the annual production and ongoing maintenance of documentation such as student handbooks, module web pages and other forms of communication and publicity.

Other ad hoc duties as required by the Senior Management within the School, including supporting the School at University open days - this will involve occasional weekend working, a maximum of four Saturdays per year.
