**Mechanical Design Engineer Powertrain Stratford £ Exceptional DOE & benefits**

We are looking for Mechanical Design Engineers (Powertrain) to help integrate their products into vessels. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects from an early concept stage following a significant recent investment in the business.
The role of Mechanical Design Engineer (Powertrain) will be to use CAD to produce powertrain component and assembly models and the associated drawings, some surfacing work will also be required. A hands-on approach and can-do attitude are essential, as isthe ability to challenge mainstream thinking in a constructive and energetic way.
**As Mechanical Design Engineer - you will be required to**
- Develop 3D models and drawings on CAD necessary for the conceptualization, validation, release and implementation of powertrain products
- Ensure product designs perform as intended, are reliable, and are safe for manufacturing and the end user
- Support design reviews within the business
- Analyse and interpret engineering data including performing engineering calculations to problem solve and support product development
- Work with cross functional teams to meet the specifications and needs of the customer in the development of new and current products
- Provide engineering and technical assistance to both internal and external customers.
**As Mechanical Design Engineer you will have**
- Degree qualified or equivalent with relevant experience in a product design or development role
- Design experience of mechanical parts and systems (powertrain, drivetrain & hydraulics preferred)
- Proficient with NX or CREO CAD platforms.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels
- Possess well-developed product knowledge, problem solving skills
- Proficient in GD&T with ability to perform tolerance stack-up analysis
