**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for leading the internal and external resources required to ensure the timely and effective delivery of financial systems processes and data flows to business stakeholders.
- As a key member of the Finance leadership team, influence and guide the business with respect to financial systems strategy, ensuring that overall direction supports continuing automation and enhancement of financial systems.
- Act as "go to" leader for financial systems issues and requirements partnering with local infrastructure function and US head office functions including, InfoSecurity, Architecture, Infrastructure & Application Support to ensure a fully coordinated service.
- Manage, motivate and develop a small team in the maintenance of financial systems and effective delivery of associated IT services.
- Management and coordination of high priority outage incidents and lead all internal and external resources required in the timely resolution of issues.
- Lead the Finance team's initiatives with regards to the continuous improvement and development of financial systems and financial reporting capabilities.
- Accountable for and oversees the maintenance and development of appropriate process documentation relating to financial systems. Lead the process to ensure that all Finance staff are appropriately trained on financial systems and can effectively utilise allavailable systems.
- Own, maintain and develop successful relationships with third party IT system and maintenance providers.
- Monitor and report on key developments in the wider external systems development environment.
- Ownership and development of key IT controls related to financial systems data to ensure accurate and timely delivery of data to key stakeholders in the business.
- Maintain and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Finance, IT, Actuarial and Data and Analytics teams and third parties engaged in the provision of financial systems.
- Manage budgets in respect of financial systems support and projects. Minimise external spend on financial systems support and ensure that skills and knowledge are available in house, to the extent possible.
- Manages the delivery of financial systems projects related to the enhancement of existing systems to deliver new business requirements and reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Management and leadership of testing resources related to systems projects and development.
- Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and ensure, at a level appropriate to the position that appropriate measures are in place to ensure this compliance.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Control-M, financial data marts and systems, Workday.
- Knowledge of insurance accounting and finance (preferably company market and Lloyd's).
- Excellent organisational and time and project management skills.
- Experience of leading, developing and motivating a small team.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the business.
- Effective presentation and influencing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence business stakeholders.
