We are looking for an enthusiastic doctor to join our department in the provision of general surgical services. This position will offer you the opportunity to develop your interest in General Surgery.
You must have experience of working at Registrar level in the UK, be registered with the GMC with the right to work in the UK.
MRCS or FRCS
- The Specialist Registrar-LAS will oversee the management of the inpatients on a day to day basis.
- You will be expected to accompany the Consultant on ward rounds and attend outpatient clinics/operating lists.
- The Specialist Registrar-LAS is expected to see patients independently in clinic.
- You will perform surgery under the supervision of a Consultant.
- The Specialist Registrar-LAS is responsible for ensuring that the discharge summary forms are completed legibly and accompany the patient when leaving the hospital.
- When on call, you will be responsible for the supervision and care of all of those patients requiring treatment in the Accident & Emergency Department and those requiring admission to one of the wards. You may also be required to give a general surgery opinion on other patients in the hospital.
- In the absence of the Consultant, you will take charge of all of the cases under their care and will direct the treatment as required. You will communicate with one of the other Consultant General Surgeons for advice and support if required.
