**Reporting To**:General Manager

**Based at**: London Gateway

**Job Purpose**:
To ensure all produce dispatched from London Gateway Bananas meets customer requirements of safety, quality and legality.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- To ensure fruit meets customer colour & temperature specification on the day of delivery
- To ensure all product packaging and detail meets or exceeds the customer’s and legal standards.
- Maintain an understanding of each customers labelling and packaging specifications.
- Ensure accuracy of date coding, barcoding and all other pack and box end labels information is correct.
- Ensure that the correct packaging is being used as per customer requirements.
- Responsible for green / goods in quality checks
- To ensure any concerns are communicated back to QC / Ripener and / or General Manager, with product
- To work safely and report any hazards or near misses to the line Shift Supervisor
- To work efficiently and effectively ensuring that you contribute to the daily Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) of the department as set by the Quality Control Manager and the needs of the business.
- To maintain high levels of health, safety, hygiene and housekeeping
- To clearly communicate between all colleagues in your team and your Line Managers in a timely manner.
- To use all equipment in a correct and safe manner

**Job Context/Working Environment**:
Warehouse based

Understanding and basic knowledge of computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Core working hours, on a shift system of 4 days on 4 days off, 7am - 7pm

Requirement to work additional shifts to cover for holidays & sickness.

Flexibility is expected during peak periods e.g. Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mothers’ Day, Easter etc.

Working to strict deadlines in a time-critical environment

Working in a cold environment for extended periods of time

Work involves lifting boxes up and down from the height of a stack of product in excess of two metres.
