POSITION OVERVIEW

The Well Decommissioning Team Lead reports directly to the Well Decommissioning Engineering Manager and is accountable for delivering specialist skills across all EnQuest P&A activities, both for planning and operations.

The Well Decommissioning Team Lead will have the competence and experience to stand in for the Well Decommissioning Superintendents when required. There is an expectation for the Well Decommissioning Team Lead to make offshore trips as required to familiarise themselves with the various rigs and build relationships with the offshore teams.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead the engineering teams through the Well Delivery Process to maximise value through optimal well decommissioning design and execution.
- Ensure accurate time and cost estimates are prepared at each stage of the Well Delivery Process for budget and AFE purposes.
- Review and technical approval of Well Programmes and HSE notifications.
- Work closely with Well Decommissioning Superintendents to ensure that operations are properly planned and executed in compliance with EnQuest operational programmes and Well Management Standards.
- Liaise with the Well Delivery Manager during operations.
- Ensure compliance with Management of Change procedures.
- Ensure all regulatory approvals are in place sufficiently in advance of operations.
- Work with Project Manager to maintain timely reporting to partners.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive drilling engineering experience, with sound knowledge of abandonment technologies. Familiar with OGUK Well Decommissioning Guidelines.
- Sound technical understanding of limiting factors within well structure and how these affect abandonment design, e.g. integrity, formation types.
- Ability to support tendering process and contract management for drilling and abandonment services.
- A motivated self-starter, proactive, flexible and able to respond positively to challenge and ad-hoc requests.
- Ability to contribute to the team, but equally work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
- Strives for continuous improvement; brings solutions and constantly seeks new and better ways to work.
- Previous experience as an offshore Drilling Supervisor and ability to cover should the need occur is preferred.
- Experience of hydraulic workover units beneficial.
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- A BSc/Eng with demonstrable competence in well planning and operations.
- Familiar with probabilistic cost estimating.
- Level 4 Subsea IWCF Certificate in Well Control.
- Current offshore survival, medical and MIST certification.
