We’re currently looking for a National Fleet Inspector to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis working 37.5 hours per week across our locations throughout the UK.

**The Role**
As a National Fleet Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the roadworthiness of our fleet of support vehicles, Light Goods Vehicles (LGVs) and Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVS).
Working at sites across the UK, you will monitor and inspect the quality of repairs and maintenance carried out on our vehicles. You will ensure they are safely operated, in accordance with our duty of care and any other legislative and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with the Head of Fleet, you will advise on changes to current legislation, operational changes that will impact safety and ensure the safe and cost-effective operation of our vehicles.
Additionally, you will:

- Implement Health and Safety policies for all vehicle related activities
- Produce reports on each inspection
- Monitor vehicle maintenance records
- Advise the Head of Fleet and Plant and Senior Fleet Inspector on vehicle issues
- Provide advice to HGV drivers and Managers on driver best practice
**About You**
To be considered a National Fleet Inspector, you will need:

- To be competent in all aspects of HGV repair and maintenance, to a recognised industry standard
- A comprehensive understanding of the Heavy Goods Vehicle Inspection Manual
- Knowledge of the licensing system for operators of heavy goods vehicles
- Knowledge of the DVSA’s Guide to maintaining roadworthiness and commercial goods vehicles
- A C&G level 3 qualification or equivalent
- Computer literate and proficient in use of MS Word and Excel
It would be beneficial to have experience of waste management vehicles and the industry.
A HGV driver licence would also be advantageous, as would a CPC qualification.
