Environmental Enforcement Officer

Medway, United Kingdom District Enforcement Ltd Full time

**About us**

Environmental Crime in the Community is something that we must all work together on to reduce. The role of an Environmental Enforcement Officer will see you undertaking a range of different activities within the local community to address this problem.

District Enforcement work closely with Local Authorities and currently have contracts across the Country. Officers are given designated powers to patrol and issue Fixed Penalty Notices where specific anti-social offences have been directly witnessed. You will be asked to patrol local areas and, in the case of witnessing an environmental offence such as littering or dog fouling, you will be required to issue Fixed Penalty Notices to the offenders.

Part of your role will also be to engage and educate young people, and the wider population on Environmental Crime and steps that they can take to contribute to an improvement in their areas.

This is a very interesting and challenging role, and tackling Environmental Crime does make a difference. As representatives of both the Company and the Local Authority, you will need to be highly self-motivated and should have a GCSE in Maths and English (or equivalent NVQ - key skills).

Law enforcement or similar experience useful but not essential as full training will be provided.

**About You**

Do you care about the community where you live?

Are you passionate about the Environment and want to make a real difference?

Are you able to engage with people, and do you hold great communication skills?

Are you able to work alone and as part of a team?

Do you have basic IT skills and are able to use technology/smart phones?

Are you looking for a career change?

Do you think you have what it takes to stand up to those who flagrantly break the law?

Do you hold a full UK Driving Licence?

If so, we provide great training, working alongside experienced officers, which will compliment your existing skills to make you an excellent enforcement officer

We can offer some flexibility with part-time contracts, to fit around a new way of working that we have become accustomed to, so would be interested to talk to you if this sounds like it might be you.

We are also looking for full-time positions, to fit with the core needs of the business. Full-time positions will cover 40 hours per week, with a rolling rota in place to assist on weekend working. Further details will be provided at interview.
