**THIS POSITION REQUIRES YOU TO WORK A 4 ON 4 OFF SHIFT PATTERN**
**SALARY: £9.50 per hour dependent on experience**
**LOCATION: Manchester - City Centre**
**HOURS: 12-hour shifts 38.5 Hours Per Week**
**HOLIDAYS: 22 Days Including Bank Holidays**

**Key responsibilities**
As the Caretaker, you will operate a high standard of caretaker services. You will take part in day to day tasks that will ultimately ensure the smooth running of the development. Ensure that timely and quality services are carried out at all times, all bin areas are maintained to a high standard.
**Skills and Experiences**
- Proven experience within a similar role is essential.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure
Essential Job Functions
- To provide a caretaker presence in and around the building(s) and ask people for proof of identity if necessary if you suspect they have no rights of access / deal with any security implications as instructed
- To remove/ collect litter and objects from inside and outside buildings. Empty, move and assist with waste management and recycling including moving and washing bins as often as necessary to keep them safe and tidy. Manage/report any large or high risk items to your line manager(s) for specialist removal
- To collect and remove refuse daily and to follow a strict rubbish removal process as dictated by Manchester City Council
- Ensure any cardboard or other recyclable product is collected flattened and disposed of appropriately
- To carry out remedial tasks (eg., mop spillages, clean up floods) - support cleaner if required
- Ensure the site is inspected every working day, defects noted, dealt with and escalated if appropriate
- Reporting of maintenance / security / resident issues should these come to your attention, especially at weekend to your line manager(s) through the handover system
- To give guidance and assistance to residents in a willing and friendly manner
- Challenging and reporting antisocial behaviour and other breaches of the permitted regulations by occupiers or visitors to the site
- To perform any other reasonable task needed to assist in the smooth running of the buildings and the estate such as jet washing and operating light mechanical / electrical equipment of a none hazardous nature
- To have an open, friendly and helpful approach to all requests made with emphasis on servicing the customer
- To identify and inform line manager(s) of training that will enable you to carry out operations safely and efficiently and provide a quality service
- Health & safety - to immediately report any health and safety matters to the line manager.
- The use of a company mobile phone or walkie talkie will be provided and during the core hours you must be contactable to ensure accessibility
**Requirements**:
- At all times whilst on site to conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner.
- At all times whilst on site to ensure personal appearance is professional and to wear the Livingcity uniform provided and washing or cleaning the clothing on a regular basis.
- Not to enter any apartments within the development without the express permission of your superiors.
