Due to expansion a **Telecoms and SatComs Payload Engineer**is required within a leading Telecoms, Satellite and Space Systems Technology Company. The successful **Telecoms and SatComs Payload Engineer**will be working with telecoms and satellite communications, Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) and with programs linked to the ESA.

The **Telecoms andSatComs Payload Engineer**will bring further understanding and experience of satellite system design, manufacture, and operations. The **Telecoms andSatComs Payload Engineer will**work to help define the satellite system constellation and individual payload specifications.

**The Responsibilities for the Telecoms and SatComs Payload Engineer
- Initiating, monitoring, and controlling space segment technology.
- Product development activities for satellite communications under the ARTES.
- Focus on digital communication technology and products.
- Liaising with relevant Departments of ESA as necessary to fulfil this role.
- Supporting activities of the Ground Segment Section.
- Creation and implementation of ARTES partnership projects.
- Reporting regularly on the progress, status, schedule, and outcome activities.
- Forecasting of milestone completion dates.
- Defining product and technology needs for future satellite communication services.
- Supporting the promotion programme and the impact analysis.
- Coordinating the provision of technical support from ESA units (e.g., TEC) as required.
- Ensure an effective initiation and management of activities.

**Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required for Telecoms and SatComs Payload Engineer
- Relevant Master’s in engineering or equivalent University degree.
- Telecoms or Satcoms engineering background.
- Experience in managing technology development activities for satellite communications.
- Knowledge of ESA and industrial development, verification, and procurement processes.
- Knowledge of satellite communication system architectures, products, and market.
- Experience of developing system requirements and subsystem architectural design.
- Experience of radiation and hazard analysis of the payload subsystem.
- Knowledge of Communications payload hardware equipment and onboard software.
- Experience in the specification, design, development, and testing
- Understanding of digital signal processors, communication modems, ASICs.
- Knowledge of software, RF equipment, active antennas, optical communication technology.
- Experience in management & communication with Stakeholder in governmental programs.
- Experience in Contract/subcontract management.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
- Experience of working in satellite communications payload design and development.
- Experience in working with major satellite manufacturers, suppliers, and equipment.
- Ability to working under own initiative and across a remote team.
- Chartered Engineer would be desirable.
- Experience in leading cross-cultural, international teams is desirable.
