CMA Recruitment Group is working with a growing business based in Fareham, Hampshire, to help them recruit an Accounts Assistant on a part time basis.
What will the role involve:
- Setting up clients and products in the finance system
- Support the Sales team to obtain the information necessary to produce accurate invoices
- Producing and issuing of client invoices for all sales activity ensuring accurate pricing is applied
- Intercompany reconciliation
- Monitoring and reconciling company transactions
- Monitoring and paying associate invoices and client invoices
- Adhering to processes to ensure accuracy of data and best practice
- Respond to client information requests in relation to invoicing
- Credit control - Ensuring payment in agreed terms by client including calling the client to address any queries
- Keeping the sales teams updated on all credit control issues relevant to their clients
- Processing expenses
- Organising payments for suppliers
- Monitoring company expenses
- Assisting in preparation and monitoring of budgets
- Ensuring Xero software meets business requirements and is effective i.e. templates, new users, reports
- Responding to general finance queries
- Monitoring Cash flow in banks
- Organising payment for HMRC/CRA taxes i.e. HST VAT returns, corporation tax
- Processing new starters and leavers for payroll and pensions
- Identify challenges with current processes and suggest/deliver ideas to increase business effectiveness
- Support with ad hoc tasks to ensure overall success of the organisation
- Previous experience in a finance function including purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and banking procedures
- Self sufficient and comfortable working under their own initiative
- Prior experience of using Xero or another accountancy software
