My clients who are a SME engineering manufacturing business are currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer / Procurement & Supply Chain Manager based in Hertfordshire to join on a permanent basis.

The Senior Buyer / Procurement & Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for all procurement and supply chain activities across the organisation, working closely with quality and production.

Will be responsible for all directs and indirect spends including team management of 1-2 people.

Role - Senior Buyer / Procurement & Supply Chain Manager

Location - Hertfordshire

Type - Permanent position

Salary - £40,000 - £50,000 + benefits

Key responsibilities of the Senior Buyer / Procurement & Supply Chain Manager role and not be limited to:

- Conducting tenders and negotiations with key suppliers
- Implementing robust contractual agreements with suppliers
- Delivering cost savings activities to the business
- Managing supplier performance and driving improvements across the supply chain to add value
- Work with our parent company's Purchasing team and to be part of a group to create a supplier manual
- Management of department KPIs and improvement plans
- Management of MRP - procurement of direct/indirect material to specification via the 'approved' vendor base to AS9100, customer and platform/project accreditation level
- Track material status to required date (ensure all dates in the ERP system are accurate and up to date) and expedite as necessary

Key skills and experience required for Senior Buyer / Procurement & Supply Chain Manager role and not limited to:

- Manufacturing background is essential
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills
- Experience in driving cost down and saving activities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
