Here at N Brown, we are looking for an Automation Test Lead to join our engineering team You will be responsible for delivering our automation testing solution within the New Web squad and supporting other squads and tribes across the testing community of practice.

**About You**

**I**n your role as Automation Test Lead, you will**:

- Responsible for overall delivery of automation testing agnostic of delivery method within a squad, tribe, or release through the Test lifecycle to time and budget. The Test Lead will have overall responsibility for testing within Agile or waterfall deliveries made at N Brown on specific releases by squads and the tribe.
- Responsible for producing and maintaining the Automation test approach and framework, ensuring adherence, and managing deviation to the agreed approach on projects and releases within N Brown.
- Responsible for resource planning across squads, tribes, or releases, working with all parties, including third parties, to ensure that resources are utilised efficiently.
- To provide leadership to the automation test team within the squad, project or release and provide a strategic and tactical vision for the team.
- Supports Test Process Improvement, in conjunction with the Testing Community of Practice Lead and Head of Engineering, within the context of the N Brown’s Test Framework and BIT Operating Model.
- Fulfil line management responsibilities.
- Lead the design and execution of complex system and acceptance tests, using agile development methods.
- Engage with stakeholders for test specification and to communicate test results.
- Identify the Testing resources needed for specific solution developments and how demand will be met within existing capacity.

**Independently, you will**:

- Define Testing strategy and approach at a squad/project/release level
- Sign off for project test plans within a specific squad/project/release
- Prioritisation of project testing within a squad/project/release
- Resource allocation across multiple squads/projects within a set of squads, projects, or releases
- Escalation of any issues or concerns through status reports at a programme level

**What are we looking for?**
- Someone who has experience of implementing automation frameworks and automation test strategies.
- Hands on Test Lead with wide experience and be technically savvy.
- A mentor attitude who has led other testers and been a Lead QA (Quality Assurance) in squads and projects.
- Someone who can help us implement, enhance, and support our automation journey and who can bring innovative ideas and provide the right pace of change balancing delivering our pipeline and implementing the automation strategy and improvements.
- Sprint planning experience, feeding in QA estimates, and allocating test resources accordingly.
- Forward thinking individual. Needs to show evidence of ideas/technologies they have suggested that have been spiked/ implemented/adopted by the team.
- Working with multiple squads and tribes to automate testing plans, create test reports and provide a roadmap of continual improvement, as well as provide support for team growth and development.
- Comfortable liaising with different squads, teams, and product owners.
- Capable of setting up best practice approaches for testing and quality for the team and sharing with the wider testing community of practice to promote collaboration and teamwork across the shared discipline of testing.
